People have been taking mushrooms medicinally for thousands of years. Their benefits are now being clinically studied and have shown to assist the body for a diverse range of ailments. Some of the reported health benefits include; anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, antiallergic, cytotoxic, antihyperlipidemic, antidiabetic, antidepressive, immunomodulating, digestive, nephroprotective, osteoprotective, hepatoprotective, and neuroprotective.
A mushroom is made up of mycelium and the fruiting body (to put it simply). The mycelium is the root network, and the fruiting body is the part of the mushroom you see and typically eat.
In a commercial setting, mushrooms are often grown on a substrate such as brown rice, rye or other type of grain. Some retailers will grind up the entire ‘crop’ - this means the mushroom itself, the mycelium, and whatever substrate it was grown on. This isn’t necessarily harmful, but it is misleading to sell for example; “100% Lion’s Mane” when you might be getting a huge amount of grain in your supplement. The benefits will be markedly reduced as you’re simply not getting enough of the mushroom itself.
All ShroomBoost products are 100% the fruiting body of the mushroom. There are no fillers, starches or other additives.
To receive enough of the beneficial compounds a medicinal mushroom contains, you have to consume a substantial amount. Many of us do not have the time (or the appetite) to sit in front of a plate stacked high with mushrooms. That’s why our extracts are concentrated. All you need to do is consume 1-2g (half a teaspoon) each day for your body to start receiving the benefits. Our extracts are performed at the following ratios; Lion’s Mane 8:1, Turkey Tail 12:1, and Reishi 15:1.
On its own, the powder definitely has a mushroomy, earthy taste. But we recommend you mix your extract into a coffee, smoothie, or meal to take every day. If mixed in properly, the taste is undetectable.
Yes we do. We take safety and quality very seriously. We use third party independent laboratories to test for heavy metals, pesticides, microbes and bacteria.
